October 22 Voter Registration Deadline

AUBURN, Calif. — With less than a month to go until the Nov. 6 general election, the Placer County Elections Office wants to remind county residents to register to vote and check their registration status before the Oct. 22 voter registration deadline.

Voter registration forms

Voter registration forms may be picked up at all post offices, libraries and California Department of Motor Vehicles offices in Placer County, or completed online at www.sos.ca.gov.

The Elections Office urges all registered voters to check their current party affiliation, address and vote-by-mail status at www.voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. This is particularly important for those who’ve had any interaction since April with the California Department of Motor Vehicles, where some customers’ voter registration information was inadvertently changed.

To further assist Placer County residents, voter registration forms will be available until Oct. 22 at midnight outside the Placer County Elections Office entrance located at 2956 Richardson Drive in North Auburn. Completed registration forms can be placed in the secure, drive-up, drop-off box located in front of the Elections Office and will be processed the next morning.

To provide better service to voters, the Elections Office will be open the two weekends prior to the election, Oct. 27-28 and Nov. 3-4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Elections staff will be available to process vote-by-mail requests and issue vote-by-mail ballots over the counter.

Voters who miss the registration deadline may complete a conditional voter registration form during normal business hours at the Elections Office.
