Roseville Fire Department Promotions

At 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, the Roseville Fire Department will be holding a promotion ceremony. We will be celebrating the recent promotions of three of our members.  The ceremony will be held in the City of Roseville Council Chambers located at 311 Vernon Street.

The following members of the Roseville Fire Department will be recognized at the badge ceremony:

Battalion Chief
Kevin Morris has worked for Roseville Fire Department for over 19 years.  Prior to Roseville, he worked 7 years for CalFire as a seasonal and volunteer firefighter.  Kevin was hired as a Firefighter/ EMT and worked 4 years in that capacity and then promoted to Engineer for 2 years.  He was promoted to Fire Captain in 1994.  Kevin graduated from CSUS in 1994 with a BS degree in Fire Service Management.  His wife, Missy, is a Police Sergeant for the Roseville Police Department.  They live in Roseville and have four children: Kyle 14, Shane and Zoë both 11, and Zane 7.

Fire Captain
Brian Schwalbe started with the Roseville Fire Department in 1994 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Previously he worked for the CalFire and Foothill ambulance as a Paramedic.  Brian began his career in the fire service in 1988 when he joined the Meadow Vista Fire Department as an on-call paid Firefighter/ EMT 1.  He received his Paramedic certificate in 1990 from Medical Emergency Training Systems in Stockton, CA.  Brian has been an Engineer since 2002 and he is a member of the Hazardous Materials Response Team and Technical Rescue Team. Brian is a certified Fire Officer and he is working on a Fire Science Degree.

Fire Engineer
Gregory Pote began his career with the Roseville Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic in 2006.  Previously he was a Firefighter/Paramedic and an Engineer/Paramedic with the Selma Fire Department.  Gregory received much of his emergency medical experience while working for ambulance companies starting in the late 1990’s.  He started his fire service career as a volunteer Firefighter for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District in 1997.  Gregory holds an AA degree in Fire Science and he is a certified Hazardous Materials Specialist.
