Rocklin and Roseville stolen goods recovered

Roseville, Calif.- Early Wednesday morning, a Roseville Police officer stopped a car for a red-light violation and discovered the car crammed with stolen property from Roseville, Rocklin and Sacramento.

At 4:22 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, Roseville Police Officer Carlos Cortes stopped a Chevrolet Lumina sedan on Atlantic Street at the I-80 onramp.  As he walked up to the sedan, he saw tires, rims, stereo equipment and other electronic equipment filling the back seat.  One item  was a GPS portable navigation system showing the address to a hotel on Taylor Road.  Officers checked the hotel parking lot and found a vehicle with a smashed window. They contacted the vehicle owner, who confirmed the GPS was hers.

While officers were still investigating, the Rocklin Police Department received a call from a resident of Woodside Drive, who had just awakened to find her vehicle resting on blocks, all four tires and rims missing.

A stereo amplifier found in the suspect’s vehicle matched one reported stolen from Sacramento last week.  Other items of suspected stolen property were collected and stored at the Roseville Police Department for further investigation.

Moises Malave Martinez, 25, of Sacramento and Arturo Martinez Jr., 23, of Elk Grove were arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglar’s tools and possession of stolen property.  Both were booked into the Roseville City Jail and released on $70,000 bail bonds.
