Gratitude and joy while looking forward to 2022

Roseville, Calif.- If you’ve been a frequent reader of these monthly articles, you’ll know how much the holiday season means to me. Our students are bubbling over with excitement, staff members are filled with the holiday spirit and my house is filled with too many sweets. This holiday season feels extra special with a renewed sense of gratitude and joy.

While I’ll miss our staff and students who are spending time with their families during winter break, I’m looking forward to hearing the stories of family gatherings, magical memories, hugs with grandparents and all of the traditions that make this season so memorable. This year, I’m hopeful that we all get the chance to unplug and spend these special moments with our nearest and dearest family and friends.

As students return to us in 2022, here is what you can expect from RCSD:

  • Our continued commitment to putting children first and doing all we can to keep them in the classroom
  • Focusing on building a sustainable model of socio-emotional support of our students alongside their academics
  • Hiring more staff members of high character and genuine care to support our students’ campus experience in and out of the classroom
  • Providing weekly communications from the District Office to keep families informed by anticipating questions and needs before they arise

These are the areas where RCSD excels because they rely on the collaboration and partnership between our school communities and our families. We know that when families are engaged with a student’s life at school, students enjoy a successful, lifelong love of learning. This is why it is an honor for us to be your partner in education. When we work together, we can make a lasting impact on our children.

I want to take a moment to wish you and your family a lovely holiday season. Please stay safe and be well. Here’s to a fantastic year in 2022.
