Fire crews battle blaze as temperatures soar

Roseville, Calif. – Large plumes of smoke towered over the skies of Roseville and Lincoln as a Placer County fire broke out near the local landfill and the Placer Ranch development currently under construction. The fire is near Athens Road and Fiddyment in West Roseville. The fire is currently under investigation.

Fire retardant drops

A scorching summer heatwave with temperatures well into the triple digits has made for a higher risk environment on the parched landscape. The fire is 100% contained according to CalFire.

The region and impacted area is no stranger to grass fires which are a regular occurrence during the dry, hot summer months.
