Major acts to small local bands take the stage
Asbury Park, NJ – Most famous for Bruce Springsteen and The Stone Pony, Asbury Park is a coastal New Jersey beach town and boardwalk that has hosted countless bands of all musical genres, in both size and stature over the years. From the Rolling Stones in 1966 to Led Zeppelin who skipped Woodstock in 1969 to play here and so many more, it’s fun to imagine those who witnessed many of these iconic bands at intimate, beachside venues back in their very early days.
For those of the modern era, Asbury park continues to serve as an inspiration and destination for both classic acts as well as up-and-coming bands looking to make their mark on today’s music scene. For fellow music fans, here are a few quick snaps we grabbed this week on trip to the Garden State. Asbury Park is located approximately 50 miles south of New York City.
