Sacramento, Calif- On April 12, 2008 at 2:03 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department was called to investigate a fatal accident involving a blue, 2004 Honda and a Sacramento City Fire Department truck at 9th and L Streets.

The fire truck was traveling south on 9th Street at L Street while responding, with red lights and siren, to a structure fire. The Honda was traveling west on L Street when they collided in the intersection.

The female driver, Kirsten Ross, 20, of Roseville was taken to an area hospital with life threatening injuries and passed away on Monday after being taken off life support. The female passenger, Nancy Gonzalez, 20 Roseville was pronounced dead at the scene. Both of the females were in their twenties. None of the fire personnel were injured.

The accident is still under investigation.
