Roseville, CA – Yesterday evening, Roseville Police Department investigators arrested a former rental property manager suspected of misappropriating at least $21,000 in rent money she collected from tenants.

Heather Shea Baker, age 36, of Roseville owned Great Estates, a property management company that collected rent and provided other services on behalf of rental property owners.  On September 26, one of her clients contacted Roseville Police and reported that Baker had failed to give her the rent and deposits she had collected from her tenants. Baker recently sent her clients a letter notifying them that she was shutting down her business. Investigators  received information that she was planning to move out of state.

Investigators contacted Baker in Napa on September 26 and arrested her on suspicion of embezzlement. She has since been released from the Placer County Jail on a $10,000 bail bond.

So far, investigators have contacted two victims–rental property owners who were clients of Great Estates–and believe there are more.ย  Investigators ask that any other clients of Baker who believe they may be owed money contact the Roseville Police Department Investigations Unit at (916)774-5070.
