An alert neighbor’s call to police and a fast response by Roseville officers led to the arrest of two males suspected of burglarizing a house and trespassing in the garage of another residence in the 1700 block of Chilton Drive.

At 11:18 a.m. Monday, May 18, a resident of the 1700 block of Chilton Drive saw shadows of someone jumping over his backyard fence, and heard another neighbor yelling to “call 911”.  The resident did, and Roseville Police officers arrived minutes later.  Officers detained two males coming out of a partially opened garage on Chilton Drive.  Officers canvassed the neighborhood and found two large plastic garbage bags containing numerous DVDs, video games, and other electronics equipment stashed in a backyard.  The property was identified as stolen from the house next door.

Ryan Matthew Ashburn, 19, and Cody Michael Calli, 18, both of Roseville, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and prowling on private property. Ashburn was also charged with possession of burglar’s tools, and Calli was also charged with possession of stolen property.  Ashburn was released on a $20,000 bail bond, and Calli remains in custody in the Placer County Jail on $20,000 bail.
