On November 2, 16-year-old Christopher Ryan Helmer of Roseville died as a result of injuries suffered in a July 28 traffic collision in Roseville.

At 11:59 p.m. on July 28, emergency personnel responded to a collision in the intersection of Galleria Boulevard and Roseville Parkway. Christopher Helmer was a passenger in aย  1992 Honda Accord coupe. The Honda was making a left turn onto westbound Roseville Parkway from northbound Galleria Boulevard, and was struck broadside by a 1995 full-size Chevy pickup that was southbound on Galleria Boulevard.

The pickup driver, 28-year old Jose Luis Serrano-Diaz of Roseville, the driver of the Honda, a 17-year-old girl from Citrus Heights, and the other passenger in the Honda, a 16-year-old girl from Roseville, sustained minor injuries. Christopher Helmer suffered major injuries that led to his death yesterday.

Neither driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, and all the involved parties were wearing seatbelts. The Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit (MAIT) has conducted an extensive investigation and has not yet been able to determine which driver was at fault in the collision.  The investigation is continuing.
