Roseville Police officers are investigating two robberies reported on Thursday, February 9. The robberies do not appear to be related to each other.

At 3:45 p.m. Thursday, two suspects tried to rob a man on the sidewalk in the 1800 block of Sierra Gardens Drive.  The 40-year-old male victim was walking on the sidewalk when the two suspects, described as Hispanic males in their early 20s wearing black clothing, approached him, demanded his wallet and pulled on his backpack. The victim refused, and one of the suspects punched the victim in the face. The suspects walked away, and did not take anything from the victim. The victim had a bruise on his face, but declined medical attention.

At 6:12 p.m. Thursday, a married couple in their 30s were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a grocery store in the 100 block of Melody Lane.  The man and woman were walking across the parking lot toward the market when a male subject confronted them, pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded her purse. The woman started to run toward the store, but fell and threw her purse down. The suspect grabbed the purse, ran to a car and drove away.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, 5’6″ tall, 120 pounds, with short, curly black hair, armed with a small unknown-type handgun.  He was seen leaving  south on Melody Lane in a black mid-90s model Toyota Corolla four-door sedan.
