Roseville Police detectives have arrested a couple suspected in a series of thefts from coin-operated machines throughout the region.ย
Between June 14 and 21, Roseville Police Department officers responded to four thefts from coin-operated machines at a laundromat on Folsom Road and coin-operated car washes on Eureka Road, Taylor Road and Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The suspects went to the businesses in the early morning hours, drilled the locks to the coin boxes, and stole the coins.
Roseville Police detectives interviewed witnesses, reviewed video surveillance and gathered information from other area law enforcement agencies, and identified a group linked to the thefts in Roseville and at least 14 other similar thefts between February and June in the counties of Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, Yuba and San Joaquin. The total loss to the victims, including repair costs, is in excess of $21,000.
Last week Roseville detectives arrested Cynthia J. Patrias and Robert J. Miller, both 49 of Turlock, on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy and other related charges.ย Charges are pending against two other suspects.
