At its January 8th meeting, the Roseville City Council approved a new memorandum of understanding with Roseville Police Officers Association (RPOA). The new two-year agreement covers 114 police officers represented by the RPOA.
“We appreciate the difficult job our officers perform and are pleased to move forward with an agreement that reflects this,” said Roseville Mayor Susan Rohan.
“It’s no surprise this has been a very long process – probably a lot longer than we would have hoped for,” said Philip Mancini, newly elected president of RPOA. “But we’re satisfied with this MOU. It’s something we can support and use as a starting point for moving forward.”
The agreement keeps in place many of the terms imposed in May 2013 including police officers paying 9% of their PERS retirement benefit. New to the terms are raises of 1.5% in July 2014 and January 2015; small increases to health insurance benefits; and moving newly hired officers into defined-contribution retirement health savings plan. These changes are consistent with the agreements between the City and its other employee bargaining units.
The new agreement begins January 11, 2014 and runs through December 31, 2015.
