The Roseville Police Department responded to aย  vehicle rollover on the evening ofย December 19th that resulted in the death of the driver.

At 8:45 p.m. Monday, December 19, Roseville Police and Roseville Fire personnel responded to a single-vehicle rollover that began on Orlando Avenue near Auburn Boulevard.

The driver, 43-year-old Thomas Jesse Clayton of Roseville, was driving his 1989 Chevrolet pickup south on Orlando Avenue when his vehicle went off the roadway, through a fence and rolled onto the eastbound I-80 on-ramp.  He was ejected from his pickup and critically injured.  He was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, and died Tuesday morning.

The roadway in the vicinity of the collision was closed until approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday morning while investigators examined the scene.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Roseville Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team
