Roseville, Calif.- At about 3:30 a.m. January 22, a resident called 911 to report suspicious activity of someone taking things in and out of a rental truck in the Diamond Woods area of Roseville.ย 

The resident thought that the person was breaking into cars.  Officers responded and found out the rental truck had been stolen in Sacramento, and detained the driver after a short struggle. 

Inside the truck, officers found burglar’s tools and numerous pieces of stolen mail.  They also found several cluster mailboxes that had been broken into in the Blue Oaks, East Roseville Parkway and Olympus Pointe neighborhoods.

U.S. Postal Inspection authorities were notified and will be investigating the theft of U.S. mail. 

Roseville officers arrested a 34-year-old man from Sacramento on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and other related charges.ย
