The Roseville City Council unanimously approved a $1.3 million appropriation from the Strategic Improvement Fund as part of phase one for a Hotel and Conference Center.

For years the business community and city officials throughout South Placer County have expressed a desire and need for a Hotel and Conference Center in South Placer County.  Phase one includes  Environmental Impact Reports, Design and Analysis, Hotel studies along with additional feasibility studies.

7 months is the projected time frame at a cost of $1.3 million for this phase. If the project proceeds to construction, the intent is to reimburse the city for the costs. If the project fails to proceed, the city has the option to sell the land to recover costs.

According to the most recent Placer County Economic Report, “The number of hotels and lodging facilities has rapidly increased to meet the growing demand stimulated by the swell of business and tourist activity in Placer County.”
