3-year-old Roseville girl dies after accidental shootingย ย 

Roseville, Calif.- Atย  5:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, Roseville Police and Fire personnel responded to an accidental shooting in the garage of a home in the 300 block of Sawtell Road.

At this stage of the investigation, it appears that a three-year-old girl handled a handgun belonging to her father, a Placer County Sheriff’s Deputy, and was shot.ย  She was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, then transferred by air ambulance to U.C. Davis Medical Center where, at 8:22 p.m., she was pronounced dead.ย  Her name is not being released at this time, pending notification of other family members.

The Roseville Police Department is conducting an investigation into the shooting, and will submit the results to the Placer County District Attorney’s Office.  The D.A.’s office will monitor and review the investigation  to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
