The Roseville, CA weekly police crime report update for March 3, 2015.

Northeast Roseville

Harding/Galleria Blvd., mail theft:  Between 6:30 p.m. February 23 and 8:15 a.m. February 24, someone broke into community mailboxes at 800 Gibson Drive. 
Harding/Galleria Blvd., burglary:  Between 7 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. March 2, someone burglarized a house on Coibion Court.  The burglar(s) removed boards from the back fence and went into the back yard, then entered the house through an unlocked back slider.  Computer equipment and children’s toys were taken.
Harding/Galleria Blvd., burglary:  At about 11:20 p.m. March 2, a resident returned home to 700 Gibson Drive, and interrupted a couple of burglars.  They had removed a window screen and gotten into the apartment unit, and one was seen rummaging through the resident’s car.  The burglars were described as a white female in her 40s, about 5’4″ tall and 110 pounds, with blonde or brown hair, wearing a black leather jacket; and a male, 5’9″ tall and 180 pounds, wearing a black beanie and gray sweatshirt.  When the resident saw them, they ran and jumped the wall surrounding the complex toward the 800 block of Gibson Drive.  Several officers responded and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects at this time.  If you have any information that could help, contact police.
East Roseville Parkway, mail theft:  Between 7 p.m. February 23 and 7:40 a.m. February 24, someone broke into community mailboxes in the 2700 block of Carradale Drive.

East Roseville

Cirby Ranch, attempted mail theft: At about 9:30 a.m. February 26, a witness saw someone driving a gold Hyundai sedan drive up next to a mailbox in the 1500 block of Pine Valley Circle.  The passenger reached out the window as if about to take outgoing mail from a mailbox.  The mail carrier happened to drive up at the same time, and the suspicious vehicle sped away.
Meadow Oaks, drug arrests:  At about 10:50 a.m. March 1, an officer was flagged down in the Safeway parking lot at the corner of Sunrise & Cirby about two men asking passers-by for money.  Officers contacted the two suspected panhandlers and conducted a probation search of their car.  Officers arrested the two, a 27-year-old man from Citrus Heights and a 28-year-old man from Sacramento, on suspicion of possessing heroin, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit money.
Sierra Gardens, DUI:  At 2:11 a.m. March 1, officers responded to a call about a driver who sped recklessly on southbound Sunrise Avenue and then crashed at Pagel Pass, damaging a light pole, street signs and other property.  The driver, a 34-year-old woman from Roseville, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and obstructing or delaying officers.

Cresthaven, theft from an unlocked car:  At 1:37 a.m. February 28, a resident of the 500 block of Arlene Drive woke up to the sound of her dog barking frantically at her front door.  She looked outside and saw a man she didn’t know inside her unlocked car with a flashlight.  She pressed the panic button on her key fob, and the male ran away, stealing an iPod Nano from the car.
Cresthaven, minor vandalism handled the old-fashioned way:  At about 5:30 p.m. March 1, Roseville Fire and Roseville Police responded to a “white explosion” in a restroom at Cresthaven Park-some teens had sprayed a fire extinguisher inside the restroom as a prank.  Thanks to citizen witnesses, the teens were identified, and officers called their parents.  The parents were very cooperative with officers, and made sure their teens returned to the park and cleaned up their mess.

Sierra Vista, DUI:  Just before 2 a.m. February 27, an officer on his way home saw a vehicle speeding across the Sierra Street (Crooked) Bridge.  He followed the driver and found him crashed into a tree at Sierra Street and Shasta Street. The driver ran away, but was caught after a short foot chase.  The 24-year-old man from Roseville was arrested on suspicion of DUI and resisting arrest. 
Roseville Heights, attempted burglary:  Around 4 or 5 a.m. February 27, a resident of the 300 block of West Duranta Street heard scratching noises at her back door.  Later she found pry marks on the door lock.  No one got in, and nothing was taken.

North Central Roseville

Stanford, burglary:  Between 9:15 a.m. and 9:40 p.m. February 26, while the residents were out, someone got into a home in the 6700 block of Copper Glen Circle through an unlocked back window and stole a flat-screen TV and cash.

West Roseville

West Park/Fiddyment Farms:  Overnight February 26/27, someone stole kitchen appliances from a new home under construction on Oak Trail Way.

West Park, suspicious vehicle, arrests:  At 12:05 a.m. February 27, an alert citizen reported a suspicious sedan cruising around the area of Hayden Parkway and Corin Drive. One of the responding officers stopped a car matching the witness’s description on Junction Boulevard.  He contacted the two occupants and searched the vehicle, finding pieces of copper irrigation pipe from the West Park area. A 34-year-old Sacramento man was arrested on suspicion of theft, possessing stolen property and a warrant for parole violation, and a 42-year-old woman from Antelope was arrested on suspicion of theft and possessing stolen property.
