The Roseville Police Department recently finished compiling their 2013 crime data, and has reported that violent crimes dropped eight percent from last year.
Roseville’s violent crime rate (the number of crimes reported per 100,000 residents) dropped nine percent according to the report
Roseville’s rate of violent crime has typically been among the lowest in the region, and usually runs about 40 percent lower than the state average.
Property crime increased two percent (or one percent on a per-capita basis), mostly due to an increased number of shoplifting reports. Within the property crime category, residential burglaries declined ten percent.
Overall, crime is going down with Roseville’sย crime rateย near its lowest level in nearly 20 years.
