Passenger killed, DUI suspected

At approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, December 20, Roseville Police and Fire Department personnel were called to a single-vehicle traffic collision on Foothills Boulevard north of Cirby Way.ย  A 1993 Lincoln 2-door coupe, occupied by four young men, was southbound on Foothills Boulevard when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

One of the passengers, a 20-year-old male, was transported by ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.  Another passenger was transported to SRMC for treatment of minor injuries. A  third passenger and the driver did not require ambulance transportation.

The driver, Brandon M. Moreno, 19, of Roseville, has been arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Southbound Foothills Boulevard will remain closed between Denio’s Loop and Cirby Way for several hours while the Roseville Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigates the scene.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
