National Night Out is an annual nationwide event designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity, raise crime prevention awareness, and develop the partnership between the City and the community. National Night Out is always celebrated on the first Tuesday in August, when the weather is typically hot and dry in Rocklin.

Rocklin’s National Night Out 2009 Event
On the night of August 4, 2009, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., every official Neighborhood Watch group in Rocklin is encouraged to host a special event in their area. The event may be a block party, barbecue, ice cream social, dessert potluck, or any other type of enjoyable gathering you can invent. Last year, some Neighborhood Watch groups set up “jump houses,” “dunk tanks,” and other innovative recreational games and activities.

Between 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., members of the Rocklin Police and Fire Departments and other City employees and officials will visit every Neighborhood Watch group that is hosting an event. This is a great opportunity to have fun with your neighbors and to meet many of the City staff members who serve your community.
