Lauryl Hinerman, a Rocklin resident, has joined the staff of Placer Valley Tourism as director of sales and marketing. She held a similar position with Rocklin Park Hotel and Spa for the last 18 months while serving on the board of Placer Valley Tourism.
A 1991 graduate of California State University, Chico, with a BA in recreation administration, Hinerman worked in tourism sales in Hawaii for a dozen years starting in 1993. She was sales manager for two barefoot cruise adventures: Pacific Splash Cruises and Windjammer Cruises.
Hinerman’s main goal is to increase group business at the hotels of Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln, the three cities served by the tourism organization. She will also be involved in sales related to the group’s webpage.
Greg Van Dusen, CEO for PVT, believes Hinerman is the right person for the challenging position. ‘We are thrilled to have Lauryl on board as our director of sales and marketing,’ he said. ‘Lauryl’s professionalism, intelligence and goal-oriented approach will lead to great success for Placer Valley Tourism. She has the perfect background in the sales and marketing of hotel properties and in a variety of tourism attractions to help us go to the next level in generating incremental room nights for our hotels in Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln.”
Van Dusen points out that nearly three fourths of the 400,000-plus room nights generated annually in the three-city area come from business travelers. Hinerman will strive to increase those numbers.
Placer Valley Tourism was incorporated by the city of Roseville in 2003 as a Business Improvement District (BID).ย It performs its duties supported by monthly meetings of an active board that includes 16 key personnel from city government, chambers of commerce and hotels in the three cities.
