14th annual Placer Feed My Starving Children MobilePack
Rocklin, Calif. – More than 1,700 volunteers packed 357,000 meals for malnourished children as part of the 14th annual Placer Feed My Starving Children MobilePack hosted at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Rocklin.
This year’s event was held from Oct. 17-19 and included large groups from churches, schools and businesses. More than 120 Rocklin High School Football team and Rocklin Girls Basketball team members joined to volunteer.
6.7 million meals and counting…
With this year’s meals packed, the local MobilePack has packed more than 6.7 million meals over 14 years of annual packing events.
Moseley Collins, a pastor and founder of Moseley Collins Law Firm, was the MobilePack’s largest sponsor, paying for 100,000 meals for the 7th year.
“Every day, the world loses so many children to starvation,” Collins said. “It is our responsibility to do all we can to alleviate the suffering. In partnership with Feed My Starving Children, we gave local residents, including many young people, a chance to make a real difference in the fight against hunger. Jesus strongly encouraged us to feed the hungry and care for the poor, so that is what we strive to do.”
MobilePack volunteers worked over seven two-hour shifts, with groups from churches, businesses, sports teams and community groups providing many of those volunteers.
“It is a huge blessing to be able to partner with volunteers, St. Matthew Lutheran Church and sponsors like the Moseley Collins Law Firm. “
