Rocklin Police Recruits Graduate

Rocklin Police Recruits John Tannarome and Jonathan Gee graduated from the six-month long Academy at a recent public graduation ceremony in Sacramento.

Both recruits attended the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Basic Recruit Academy (14-SBRA-1), completing a physically demanding, academically arduous and emotionally challenging Basic Recruit Peace Officer Academy accredited by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).

Recruits John Tannarome and Jonathan Gee were joined by their families who performed the badge-pinning tradition on stage at a packed public ceremony in Fair Oaks. Dignitaries in attendance from the Rocklin Police Dept. included Chief of Police Ron Lawrence, Captain Chad Butler, Lieutenant Forrest Richardson, Sergeant Trent Jewell, Corporal Chris Osborne, FTO Jay Newton, and SRO Kyle Hollis. Also in attendance were several of Rocklin PD’s new Police Explorers who were on hand to witness what they strive to achieve in their future.

Tannarome and Gee will be officially sworn in as Rocklin police officers after they both enjoy a much deserved vacation. They will be introduced to the Rocklin City Council at our annual Honors, Awards, and Promotional ceremony planned for early March, 2015.

The Rocklin Police Department wishes to thank the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, specifically Sheriff Scott Jones, Under Sheriff Jamie Lewis and the Academy staff for recognizing the importance of regional partnerships and allowing Rocklin Police recruits to join in this important training.

“The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Academy staff were very professional and incredibly easy to work with. We are fortunate to have such great law enforcement partners within the greater Sacramento region. Congratulations to Police Recruits Tannarome and Gee on their accomplishment. We look forward to them getting started as police officers in the City of Rocklin.”  – Lieutenant Forrest Richardson, Rocklin Police Dept. Professional Standards Unit.
