Rocklin man arrested on burglary charges

Sunset Blvd businesses targeted

During the early morning hours of July 7, 2011, at least 4 businesses were broken into within a several block area of Sunset Blvd.  With the help of one of the business owners, Rocklin Police located a suspect and made an arrest.

Just after 2:00 AM, Rocklin Police Dispatch received a burglar alarm call in the 2200 block of Sunset Blvd.  Upon arrival, officers noted that a window of the business had been smashed.  The business owner met officers at his store and reviewed the surveillance video of the break-in.  The video showed a white male within the store.  He had a medium build, was wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a tank top and black shorts and high top shoes.  The suspect also had a visible tattoo.

Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect.

Officers received an additional burglar alarm call about two blocks away in the 2300 block of Sunset Blvd about 1/2 hour later and noted two businesses with smashed windows there as well.

At about 4:00 AM, while the business owner of the first burglarized business was still at his store he saw a male subject in area.  He called police when he noted that the subject matched the male on the video surveillance.  Officers responded, found and arrested the subject in a nearby apartment complex.

Later in the morning, another business in the 2300 block of Sunset Blvd was found to have a smashed window front as well.

Tylor John Pitman, 21 years, of Rocklin, was arrested for multiple counts of burglary and was transported to the Placer County Jail.  He is being held on $10,000 bail.

$2400 of stolen nutritional supplements were recovered by police.
