Supermarket wars heat up, high quality grocer adds third South Placer location
Rocklin, Calif.- On Tuesday, October 22, Rocklin Councilmembers, City Staff, and developers came together to celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Nugget Market location at the corner of Whitney Ranch Parkway and University Avenue.
This marks the beginning of a larger development that will feature a commercial shopping center with ten buildings, totaling around 95,000 square feet. Nugget Market will be the centerpiece, bringing a 44,000 square foot grocery store to the Whitney Ranch area-the first of its kind!
“This is going to be more then a grocery store,” Vice Mayor Jill Gayaldo stated during the groundbreaking, “It’s going to be a gathering spot for our community. It is going to be such a unique space and will be designed to bring people in and have them want to stay. We are so excited to have Nugget Market in our Whitney Ranch community.”
The store is expected to open, weather permitting, in late 2025.
