Rocklin, Calif.- On September 15, 2012, Rocklin Police officers received information regarding an unlawful intimate relationship between a Whitney High School teacher and a 17 year old female high school student from the same school.

Rocklin Police detectives served a search warrant teacher’s residence this morning and subsequently arrested the teacher. Matthew Yamamoto, 33 years, of Rocklin was arrested for child molestation and for arranging for a meeting with a minor for purposes of committing a lewd act.

Yamamoto was booked into the Placer County Jail and is being held on $100,000 bail.

Rocklin Police Detectives are involved in an ongoing investigation and seeking information regarding possible additional victims.  Anyone with information is urged to contact the Rocklin Police Department.

According the his own blog, Yamamoto is originally from Santa Rosa, California and graduated from UC Davis in 2001 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering. He has also worked in the Winters Joint Unified School District.
