During the evening hours of Thursday, July 30th, an alert 13 year old girl refused the request of an unknown male to get into his vehicle and then called police.

At about 6:00 PM, the Rocklin teenager was by herself in the area of Pebble Creek Drive and Sunset Blvd. A truck pulled adjacent to her and the unknown male driver said that her parents wanted him to pick her up and drive her home. The girl refused to get into the truck and then threw a plastic water bottle at the driver’s face. He drove away.

The observant teen was able to provide a detailed description of the truck and driver. The truck was described as a smaller, champagne pickup with Nevada plates. It had a shell that was off-white in color. The driver was white, between 30-40 years old, with light, pale skin, brown eyes, and very dark brown hair. He had a brown mole under his left eye and was wearing a gray tee shirt.

Rocklin Police are asking for anyone with information about this incident or about the described truck to call the department.

Rocklin detectives will attempt to get a sketch of the suspect later today.

The Rocklin Police Department asks that parents talk with their children about all situations that may put them at risk. There are many websites that have suggestions for parents on what to say and how to say it.
