Rocklin Police arrested a Whitney High School teacher today for “sexting” a female juvenile for unlawful purposes. Richard Eldredge, who was placed on administrative leave by the Rocklin Unified School District, is a theatre arts teacher.
The 17-year-old victim reported to police that Eldredge on more than one occasion texted her asking for either sex or naked photos over a period of at least a month.
The revelations first came to police from a mandated reporter not associated with Whitney High School.
Eldredge, 41 years, of Sacramento was booked into Placer County Jail on a Ramey Warrant for 288.3 PC – Unlawful contact with a minor for unlawful sexual purposes, a felony.
Rocklin Police have no information that there are additional victims but are seeking any information from any other possible victims.
Please call Detective Neil Costa at 916-625-5441 with any additional information.
The Whitney High School website list Eldredge as a VAPA – Theatre Arts I, II, III, & IV teacher.
This is the second Whitney High teacher arrested in the last 2 school years. In September of 2012, a teacher at the same school was arrested on child molestation charges.
