Rocklin, Calif.- On May 8, 2010, at 8:40 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff”s deputies responded to a shooting call at the Eco Lodge which is located at 2912 Auburn Boulevard. Deputies arrived and found 29-year-old Sacramento resident Marcel Hatch in one of the motel rooms suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Hatch was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his wound.

Investigators talked to witnesses and quickly learned Hatch and the suspect, later identified as 25-year-old Rocklin resident Charles Antonio Williams, were involved in a physical fight the prior day. Williams returned to the motel in a black SUV with female and male passengers and shot Hatch. On May 10, 2010, hospital officials notified the Sheriff’s Department that Hatch had died as a result of his gunshot wound.

On May 11, 2010, detectives assigned to the Sheriff’s Warrant Fugitive Bureau located Williams and arrested him at his Rocklin apartment which is located in the 2600 block of Sunset Boulevard. Williams was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a single count of murder.  Williams is scheduled to be arraigned on May 13, 2010, at 1:30 p.m., in Department 61.
