Rocklin Police Rapid Deployment Team

Rocklin, Calif.- In its continued mission of providing superior resources for public safety, the Rocklin Police recently implemented the Department’s first Rapid Deployment Team (RDT). The RDT enables the Police Department to better utilize resources in the event of a critical incident, while maintaining the integrity of regular patrol functions.

The RDT’s primary function is to relieve SWAT team members and patrol officers as the RDT members arrive on scene. The RDT allows the initially responding patrol officers to return to the field and handle calls for service issued during a critical incident.

Team members of the RDT will receive basic perimeter training and training on how to organize, deploy, and perform an emergency hostage rescue, in the event that one occurs.
