Rocklin, Calif.- On 02-13-2014, at approximately 10:54 PM, Rocklin officers located a suspicious vehicle in the 4500 block of Rocklin Road.

One woman and two men were inside the vehicle.

 As officers attempted to detain one of the male occupants, he physically resisted and fled the parking lot on foot.  A short foot pursuit began eastbound on Rocklin Road.  Officers from the California Highway Patrol and Deputies from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the pursuit.  Rocklin officers eventually apprehended the suspect on Rocklin Road, just east of Aguilar Road. 

The suspect was identified as, Jeremy Sheffield, 27 years old, out of Auburn.  He was found to be in possession of more than 47 grams of suspected Heroin.  Additionally, Sheffield was wanted out of Placer County on three separate arrest warrants.  He was taken into custody and later transported to the Placer County Jail where he was booked on the listed charges. 

The other male and female occupants in the vehicle fled the scene while officers were chasing Sheffield.  A large canister of pepper spray and narcotics paraphernalia were found in the area where the vehicle was last seen.  Despite an extensive search, the vehicle and other occupants were not located.  

The vehicle is described as an older, silver or gray, four-door, Honda Civic.  The driver of the car is described as white, male, adult, and he was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and a bright red baseball hat.  The passenger of the vehicle is described as a white, female, adult, with long blonde hair.  If anyone may have witnessed the incident, or has information about the identities of the subjects that fled in the car, please contact the Rocklin Police Department.

Jeremy David Sheffield, 27 years old, of Auburn, is being held on $155,000 bail and was booked on the following charges:ย 

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Battery on a Peace Officer with Injury
  • Felony Warrants
  • Misdemeanor Warrant
