On 04-22-2009 at approximately 11:52 PM, the Rocklin Police Department responded to the area of Keystone Court and Polar Star in Rocklin for the report of a residential burglary in progress.

Upon arrival by officers, the intruder was gone. However, an investigation indicated that the intruder was the ex-boyfriend of the resident and father of her child. The victim had previously obtained a restraining order against the intruder but that didn’t stop him from breaking a door down and starting an argument.

The victim’s two roommates, who were also at the residence, helped her by rescuing her from the intruder who began to drag her from the house. They were able to force him from the house. The intruder tried to run back into the house but the roommates had closed and locked the door before he could get back in.

Rocklin Police Detectives identified the intruder as Shawn Edward MacDonald, 34 years old of Rocklin and obtained an arrest warrant him, for first degree burglary, kidnapping, violation of a domestic violence restraining order and domestic violence.

Detectives located Shawn Edward MacDonald and arrested him the next day at 8:50 AM. MacDonald was booked into the Placer County Jail on a $500,000.00 bail. Detectives are investigating the case further for the possibility of additional charges.
