On New Years Day, January 1, 2008, in the early morning hours, the Rocklin Police Department responded to a sexual assault call in the 5400 block of Quane Road.
The 27 year old male victim, a partygoer from out of town who decided to spend the night, reported that he was awakened out of a dead sleep by a male subject who was sexually assaulting him. The subject was from the neighborhood and at the party earlier. An investigation ensued during which detectives obtained DNA evidence or samples from both parties.
Due to a high volume of DNA processing requests at the Department of Justice, the submitted DNA specimens were not processed until November 2009. Nearly 1¾ years later, Rocklin Police Department Detectives received the DNA results and arrested the subject.
Arrested was Ladd Douglass Wiidenen, 41 years, of Rocklin for two felonies; sexual battery and oral copulation.
Ladd Douglas Wiidanen was booked into the Placer County Jail on $150,000 bail.
