On May 18th, Rocklin Police Detectives arrested a Rocklin man for concealing a video device in the bedroom of a juvenile and for production of child pornography.
Rocklin Police Officers initiated an investigation after a family member found a homemade DVD of an unclothed female juvenile. Police were notified and after a short investigation that involved obtaining a search warrant, detectives arrested Jeffrey Allen Smith, 45 years, of Rocklin.
“A recording device was hidden in the bedroom of the juvenile,” said Lieutenant Lon Milka. “The investigation will continue to see if the video or any part of the video was distributed to others or if there are additional videos.”
Smith was booked into Placer County Jail and is currently out of custody on a $60,000 bail.
California law prohibits the recording by electronic means any person who may be in the state of full or partial undress in the interior room of a residence when that person has not given consent. Additionally, any person who possesses pornography depicting a person under the age of 18 years is prohibited.
