Rocklin, Calif.- At about 11:21am, On Sunday, February 15, 2015, officers from the Rocklin Police Department responded to a vehicle theft in progress in the 4400 block of Rocklin Road.

Officers arrived and discovered that the incident did not involve a vehicle theft, however, it was related to a dispute over a dog. Two male suspects and one female suspect robbed two victims and stole their dog while they were in a vehicle in the parking lot.

One male suspect held a knife to a victim’s throat while a second male suspect attempted to break into the victim’s car using a hammer. The female suspect got into a physical fight with one of the victim’s. The suspects fled the area and disposed of a weapon in a neighboring business. Officers later recovered the weapon, but despite a thorough search of the area the three suspects were not immediately located or contacted.

Through subsequent police investigation, one of the male suspect’s was identified as, Davonte Cyrus, 22, from Rocklin. He was arrested by Rocklin police in the 5900 block of Springview Drive and booked at the Placer County Jail on the listed charges.

The Rocklin Police Department is asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident or who may have information about the identities of the two remaining unknown suspects, to call the non-emergency number at, 916-625-5400.
