On Monday 09/7/15 at 10:14 pm, officers responded to 6455 Pacific Street on the report of a possible structure fire. Upon the first officer’s arrival, he saw flames coming from two trucks located at the back of the business, Trucksmart, Inc.
Rocklin Fire Department personnel responded and were able to extinguish the flames but not before the business suffered significant property damage.
Officers conducted a thorough investigation in the following days.ย A witness had observed a white truck with a trailer behind the business just prior to the fire.ย Other leads uncovered that a neighboring business had a video recording system that captured a white truck with a trailerย on its recording device.ย That footage led to the license plate of the suspect vehicle and the eventually suspect, who was later identified as Brandon Lee Lent of Rocklin, Ca.
On 09/08/15 at 6:59 pm, Lent was contacted near his residence and arrested for the fire at Trucksmart.ย
Officers believe that while Lent was siphoning gas from one of the business’s trucks, a fire erupted and that he fled the scene.
He was initially transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of burns to his hand and then was booked into the Placer County Jail on the listed charges.ย ย He remains in custody on $25,000 bail.
