Rocklin, Calif.- Rocklin police officers recently responded to the report of a residential burglary in progress at 6509 Winter Rush Drive, where a white male adult was seen entering a residence through a first floor window.

While Rocklin PD Officers and Detectives were searching the area for the suspect, Detectives from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, who also happened to be conducting a burglary investigation, provided Rocklin PD Detectives with information about a possible subject of interest in other residential burglaries in their jurisdiction. It was later learned that 6033 Equestrian Terrace (Rocklin) had also been burglarized and possibly related to the current investigation.

The information gathered by Detectives from both agencies was used to locate and identify suspects Michael Sommers and Steven Espino. The subjects were detained by Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies and stolen items from the Equestrian Terrace burglary were recovered.
ย
A subsequent probation search was conducted at Sommers’ Orangevale residence and other possibly stolen items were recovered.

Both Sommers and Espino were booked at the Placer County Jail without further incident.
