Rocklin, Calif. – Longtime Sacramento news reporter Rob McAllister, who became well known for his reporting at both KFBK 1530 radio and KOVR CBS 13 television in Sacramento, has accepted a position at Halldin Public Relations

As a Vice President with Halldin PR, McAllister will focus on creating strategic communications for clients, using both traditional and social media.

“We are excited to welcome Rob to our team,” said Bill Halldin, Founder and President of Halldin Public Relations. “Rob has been a well-known and well-respected journalist in our community and will bring strong skills to assist our clients and expand our services.”

McAllister gained nationwide attention after breaking details of a secret deal between the Sacramento Kings’ owners and Anaheim leaders to relocate the NBA franchise to Orange County in January 2011.

Along with his duties at Halldin PR, McAllister will continue to serve as the play-by-play announcer for the Sacramento Republic FC.

“I’m excited to join a well-established and top-notch company in Halldin Public Relations,” McAllister said. “After a decade in the news industry, I will be able to use my broadcast and storytelling expertise to help meet the desires and needs of our divergent clients.”

Before joining KOVR CBS 13 in 2013, McAllister spent five years with KFBK radio. He served as the primary business, political and sports reporter at both news outlets.

McAllister, a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo graduate who attended Rocklin High School, also served as the play-by-play broadcaster for Sacramento River Cats games in 2012, and has done broadcast work for the Comcast Hometown Network and the Fox Sports West College Network. McAllister began his broadcast career with the ESPN affiliate, KMVI, in Hawaii.

Founded in 1999, Halldin Public Relations helps clients effectively communicate with key audiences through traditional media and social media. The company’s clients include businesses, government agencies and non-profit organizations, with a focus on crisis communications and serving financial services, health care, technology and education organizations.

The company, which has offices in both Rocklin and Sacramento, has consistently been ranked among the top public relations firms in the Greater Sacramento area and founder Bill Halldin was named the Sacramento Public Relations Association’s PR Professional of the Year in 2009.
