Rocklin, Calif.Β – William Jessup University men’s basketball coach Aaron Muhic announced today the signing of Patrick Adelman to the 2010-11 men’s basketball team.
Adelman is the son of Rick Adelman, head coach of the NBA’s Houston Rockets and former coach of the Sacramento Kings.
Patrick Adelman joins the 2010 Cal Pac championship Warriors from Portland, after a successful stint at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon. The 5-foot-8 guard finished his career with a 4-to-1 assist to turnover ratio. The Storm finished the season with a 23-4 overall record and Adelman was voted team captain and its best defender.
Adelman started out his prep career at Granite Bay High School before moving to Oregon, where he attended Lake Oswego High School. In his senior season, he teamed with Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love to lead Lake Oswego to a 26-2 record in his senior season.
“Patrick has worked hard to make himself a college basketball player. He understands the commitment it takes to win and strives for excellence both on and off the court,” said Muhic. “I am very excited to work with him and know that he will be a positive addition to our program.”
While playing at Chemeketa Community College, Adelman was a teammate of current William Jessup guard Kadeem Kirsten.
“I had choices to go to other places that are great programs, but were in the process of rebuilding,” Adelman said. “Jessup became my first choice after seeing the success they had in the last couple of years. Kadeem Kirsten had nothing but great things to say about the Warriors’ program.”
