On June 19th, at approximately 5:40 p.m., a volunteer from Placer County Mountain Rescue Team located Mr. Knibbs a few hundred feet away from a walking path, in a thick, wooded portion of a greenbelt area.
Mr. Knibbs had slipped and fell earlier in the day, and was lying down, out of view. Police officers and a Rocklin Fire engine company responded to the scene with emergency equipment to extract Mr. Knibbs from the scene. Emergency crews used a chainsaw to clear a pathway through the trees for emergency equipment and additional personnel to reach Mr. Knibbs.
Mr. Knibbs was transported to a local hospital for exposure.
