On July 18th and July 19th, 2006, the Investigations Unit of the Rocklin Police Department, agents from the California Department of Justice Sexual Predator Apprehension Team (SPAT), agents from State Parole, and Placer County Probation Officers conducted a compliance check of registered sex offenders residing in Rocklin.  The detail included contacting each registered offender at his residence to check the accuracy of infomation provided by the offender.  The type of information required includes name, date of birth, residential address, business address, and vehicle descriptions.

Forty-four registered offenders were contacted.  It was discovered that 1 registrant was not living where indicated and , thus, was found to be out of compliance.  The whereabouts of the registrant is being sought and registration law violation charges will be requested by this department of the District Attorney’s office.

One registered offender who was on probation was arrested for a weapons charge.

The goal of such compliance checks is to be proactive in monitoring those registered as sex offenders within the city and to ensure that the Megan’s Law requirements of each offender is met.
