A Loomis man called the Placer County Sheriff’s Office early this morning after several men wearing masks and carrying a gun raided his outdoor marijuana garden as he slept outside to guard his 100 plants. The men did not take any pot, but fired two shots at the house as they fled.
At 4:53 this morning, the man told dispatchers that two or three suspects entered his backyard in the 9100 block of King Road. The man ran into his home to tell his roommate what was happening and the would-be thieves ran back to their vehicle. As they headed east on King Road, the men fired two rounds into the house. No one in the house was injured.
While this case is still under investigation, it appears that the marijuana was being grown illegally and all 100 plants, which were 5-6 feet tall, were uprooted and removed from the property. The owner of the plants could face criminal charges.
