The Placer County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in its ongoing investigation into the July 25 shooting death of a Lincoln man.

Robert Joseph Vargas, 32, was found in the brush behind his residence on S. Forbes Road by family members. An autopsy revealed that Vargas died from a gunshot wound.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who has information about Vargas’ activities in the weeks leading up to his death. They are urged to call the Sheriff’s Department at (530) 889-7800.
