Thanks to an alert Rocklin resident, several out-of-area vandals were identified after they vandalized a local park with their vehicle. The park, Pleasant Valley Creek Park, is in the Whitney Oaks area of Rocklin at Park Drive and Sterling Way.
At about 7:15 AM on December 20, 2008, a Rocklin resident saw a group of juveniles in a Jeep drive onto the grass area of a local park and damage the newly laid sod with the vehicle’s tires. The witness obtained the license plate number of the automobile and telephoned Rocklin Police Dispatch. Officers investigated and tracked the vehicle to a Roseville residence and the driver and passengers were identified.
The damage was estimated by Rocklin Parks & Recreation to be about $1000.
The driver and three passengers were all juveniles and all live out of the city. It is unclear as to the reason why they were in Rocklin. The case has been forwarded to Juvenile Probation.
