Danville, CAย  – With a total of only four small and mid-sized businesses sold in Placer last month, the county hit the yearly record low level of activity in this market, and a substantial drop from the 18 escrows closed in November of 2008, according to figures supplied by BizBen.com–Businesses for Sale in California. The company also said November 2009 activity was down from the 11 deals concluded the month before.

‘We still need more aggressive participation in this market by business lenders and greater confidence on the part of entrepreneurs,’ said Peter Siegel, founder and CEO of BizBen.com.

He added that the county’s low numbers are a reflection of the dip in small business sales throughout the state last month. Just 954 small business deals were concluded in California in November, a drop from the 1,314 completed transactions the previous month.

Three of the county”s sales involved Roseville businesses. The fourth was in Lincoln.

Siegel pointed out that there are 60 businesses for sale in the county. The BizBen information on all Placer County business opportunities offerings can be found in the Placer County listings section.
