Two new faces will be involved in the management of Placer County Fair this year.  The Fair Association recently brought in CEO Joan Bartosik to take the helm and Scott Woessner was elected to the Board of Directors at their annual meeting in January.  Woessner takes the place of Roseville City Councilmember Jim Gray, who’s term had expired. Incumbents Wayne Vineyard and Ryan Ronco were re-elected to office, as their terms had also expired.

CEO Joan Bartosik comes to the Placer County Fair with strong management experience in the Fair and Event Industry. She has served as Entertainment Director and Contracts Manager DelMar Fair in San Diego County, Deputy Director of El Dorado County Fair, and CEO of the Mountain Mandarin Festival, which grew from a few thousand to over 30,000 visitors under her direction. She most recently has been a consultant in the industry.

‘We have a great team of Fair experts on board with the goal of bringing back the excitement and quality that the Placer County Fair deserves,’ Joan commented.  ‘We want people to come back and re-discover how much fun the Fair can be with new entertainment, and some new major events in the Speedway stadium. In fact, to encourage everyone to come out we will be offering free admission at the gate this year.’

Incoming President, Wayne Vineyard, a 36-year Board member, is looking forward to bringing more people to the Fair. ‘With the economy, State furloughs, and unemployment, the board felt that it was an opportunity to give back to the community who will be able to enjoy the Fair at no charge in 2010.’

Incoming director Scott Woessner, Woessner Heating & Air, Roseville, is pleased to be a part of the team.  ‘I’ve been coming to this Fair since I was knee-high to a grasshopper,’ he said. ‘I’m looking forward to being part of the development of the Fair and the Speedway, and helping both to realize their great potential.’ Scott has been racing at the All American Speedway since the 1990s and currently owns Modified and Late Model cars.

In other news, the Fair Board announced the 2010 dates and theme.ย  The Placer County Fair will be ‘Wild and Free’ at this year’s Fair, June 24-27 and their first NASCAR Whelan All American Series race will be held April 3.
