Auburn, Calif. – The Placer County Water Agency has again been recognized for excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).ย ย

PCWA was awarded the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement, the highest form of recognition given by the 17,500-member association of government finance professionals.ย  The association is based in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The award recognizes PCWA’s comprehensive annual financial report for 2013 and “spirit of full disclosure” in clearly communicating its financial story.ย  This is the eighth consecutive year PCWA has received this award.ย  The comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) includes the three required sections: 1) the introductory section that presents an overview of the agency, economic conditions and financial policies; 2) the financial section that presents the independent auditor’s report, management’s discussion and analysis and financial statements; 3) the statistical section that presents a variety of 10-year financial trends and statistics.ย

“This is a very prestigious award in our business and we are very pleased to accept it,” said PCWA Director of Financial Services Joseph H. Parker.ย  “The CAFR presents a wealth of information in one report.ย  Along with the results of the 2013 year, which had an all-inclusive expense budget totaling $81.9 million, it includes various Agency facts and financial trends for ready reference.ย  Receiving this award for eight consecutive years reflects very well on the dedication and professionalism of everyone on the PCWA staff.”ย
