Placer County Supervisor Jennifer Montgomery has named Miner “Mickey” S. Gray, III, as the 5th District representative on the Placer County Planning Commission. Gray, president and owner of Woodcraft Construction, is a longtime resident of Donner Summit and has been active in the community for more than two decades.
“Mickey Gray is one of the most ethical people that I’ve ever met and, as someone who has worked in the building industry, he understands the challenges and complications of land-use planning,” said Montgomery. “I am confident he will be an outstanding Planning Commissioner.”
Gray is a longtime member of the Truckee-Donner Land Trust, former Vice President of the Donner Summit Area Association, and was a volunteer firefighter for the Donner Summit Fire Department. Woodcraft Construction also has been a primary underwriter for the annual Donner Summit Cleanup Day for more than 20 years.
Woodcraft Construction specializes in building custom homes, but recently the company has shifted its emphasis to design and consulting work. Before purchasing Woodcraft in 1986, Gray co-founded Rosano Construction with his brother in 1979. Gray earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from San Jose State University.
