Providing nutritious meals and friendly visits

Rocklin, Calif – On November 5th , community partners, elected officials, volunteers, staff, and special guests are gathering at the new Meals on Wheels by ACC office in Rocklin, celebrating the new facility and services to west Placer County seniors.

The Meals on Wheels by ACC program provides an important gate-keeping service, protecting homebound seniors from isolation by providing friendly visits and nutritious meals at no cost to homebound seniors in need. “Many seniors in our area are extremely isolated and have difficulty preparing simple meals or affording groceries” stated Michelle Bustamante, Program Specialist. “We depend on the care and support provided by volunteer drivers to keep our seniors nourished and safe”.

In addition to providing nutritious meals and friendly visits, Meals on Wheels by ACC provides safety checks, nutrition education and resource information to homebound seniors in Rocklin, Roseville, Auburn, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, Applegate, Newcastle, Colfax, and neighboring communities in west Placer County.
